NOTE ON PITCH
To Hell and Back was written specifically for period instruments. Baroque pitch (A415) was used for the first performances and the recording; this is roughly a half-step lower than modern pitch (A440). We offer the piano/vocal score at standard pitch and also a half-step lower, so the singer can choose which version they prefer.
