Commissioned by Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival and premiered by flutist, Marya Martin, and pianist, Jeewon Park, summer 2012. “Sweven” is a beautiful Middle English word and concept used by Chaucer, who in the House of Fame pondered: “Why that is an avision/And why this a revelacion/Why this is a drem, why that a sweven”.
